An Urban Sound Salad

Project Description:

An Urban Sound Salad is a sound journal and field recording project that captures the sonic landscape of Buffalo, New York. The project gathers sounds from diverse urban sites, focusing on interactions with architectural materials, discarded objects, construction remains, and other overlooked remnants.

Through these recordings, everyday urban noise is transformed into a rich, textured soundscape, uncovering the hidden rhythms and materiality of the city’s environment. By engaging with these often-forgotten elements, the project invites listeners to reimagine Buffalo through an auditory lens, revealing the city as a layered and evolving narrative embedded within its overlooked spaces.
